Client Testimonials
"Before coaching, I was so worried about the business side of my career that I struggled to enjoy the creative side. All of those worries kept me from writing consistently, and I fell behind on deadlines.
Since working with Isabel, I've been able to separate my self-worth from my books' performance. I've been able to get back into a regular writing routine, and my mental health around my author career has improved greatly!"
-Janae Marks, New York Times bestselling MG author
"Isabel is absolutely someone you want in your corner! She knows how to guide authors and tap into their individual goals and desires. In the same way that I feel every human should have an amazing therapist, I feel every author should have an amazing coach like Isabel.
Isabel has an authentic optimism that in no way resembles toxic positivity, and she's excellent at reframing things, normalizing experiences, and asking the deep questions that lead to deep answers."
-Kim DeRose, YA author
"Being a full-time author can be really isolating and lonely. Coaching helped me see that I'm not alone and taught me how to prep for uncertain times. It was so useful for my ADHD to plan different writing schedules depending on when edits might arrive.
Before coaching, it felt impossible to ask for deadline extensions. Now, I'm able to make empowered decisions about all aspects of my career, including treating myself like a person rather than a productivity machine."
-Alison Cochrun, USA Today bestselling Romance author
Why Private Coaching?
Being an author isn't easy.
All the stresses of publishing - deadlines, marketing demands, and dealing with less-than-ideal sales numbers - can get in the way of your most important job: writing your next book.
And while therapy can be helpful, unless your therapist is also an author, they won't understand the unique challenges of being a published novelist.
You deserve someone who understands the emotional rollercoaster of being on submission.
Someone who gets what it's like to manage irregular finances.
Who understands that stress in your personal life can also make it harder to write.
Being an author is your career. You deserve a support system of experts who deeply understand the nuances of your professional world.
As a master certified life coach, I bring research-backed techniques to our coaching sessions to help you get clear on your goals, find the root cause of your writing struggles, and leave you with simple action steps that you can tackle each week.
Even more importantly, I'm also a career author. I live what I teach. I use these same processes in my own creative life.
This work has allowed me to stay in love with writing through publishing hiccups (including cancelled contracts and failed submissions) and family emergencies. These tools helped me write and sold a book for six-figures during the hardest year of my life.
Wherever you are in your career - and whatever's going on in your personal life - I've got you.

Client Testimonials
"Isabel's questions help me get really specific about what I do - and don't - want for both my writing and my career in publishing.
It's so easy to compare ourselves to others in our productivity-hustle-girlboss culture; it turns out I was feeling like a failure about not doing things that I don't even WANT to do."
-Jessica Spotswood, YA author
"Isabel helped me tell new, more productive stories about the work I’m doing, allowing me to walk away from a writing session feeling proud instead of defeated.
I'm working more than I have been in a long time, and am finally able to take a day off without guilt, which is a major win for me."
-Historical Fiction Author
"Isabel's coaching truly changed my life. Before, I constantly oscillated between burnout and perfectionism. But after Isabel's coaching, I learned to question my assumptions on what really had to get done, be kinder to myself, and to celebrate every small win.
I don't think my author career would be where it is today without Isabel's help."
-Sarah Mendonca, MG Author
